Join us in Mid Wales on Monday 27th April 2026 for a full-day guided 4×4 green lane Explorer Tour including the classic Strata Florida route. This small-group trip is for drivers who want to experience real Welsh green lanes with an experienced guide, steady pacing and clear support on the more technical sections.

We start in Tregaron, Ceredigion, Wales and follow a mix of forest tracks, river crossings and upland views, with plenty of stops. You bring your own road-legal 4×4, we bring the local green laning knowledge, route planning and backup so you can focus on the driving.

What to expect on the Strata Florida 4×4 green lane tour

This is a full-day guided 4×4 green laning tour that includes the Strata Florida green lane plus connecting lanes in the surrounding Mid Wales countryside. Expect water crossings, rocky sections and narrow tracks, all driven at a steady, controlled pace. Your guide will brief you before each section, spot you through any tricky obstacles and keep the group together on the lanes and road links.

Who this 4×4 green laning tour is for

This tour suits drivers with some green laning or off-tarmac experience who want to drive Strata Florida as part of a supported small group. You will need your own road-legal 4×4 with low range and good all-terrain or mud-terrain tyres. It is not suitable for very low vehicles or standard soft-roaders. Do I need previous green laning experience?

Some previous green laning or off-tarmac driving is recommended, as Strata Florida includes water crossings and rocky sections. If this is your first time, get in touch and we can advise whether this date is right for you.

Is my 4×4 suitable for Strata Florida green laning?

You will need a road-legal 4×4 with low range and decent ground clearance, on all-terrain or mud-terrain tyres. Very low vehicles and standard soft-roaders are not suitable for this tour.

Can I drive Strata Florida without a guide?

Strata Florida is an open green lane, but conditions change with weather and use. Joining a guided green laning group means you benefit from local knowledge, support through the trickier sections and a well-planned route that links lanes safely.
