Tour Overview

• Date: Saturday 17th October 2026
• Meeting Point: Llandovery SA20 0AR, 09:45 (welcome, introduction, and safety briefing)
• Finish: Around 16:00-16:30 near Rhayader (Crossgates for anyone not staying overnight)
• Price: £120 per vehicle per day (including VAT)
• Route:  Trecastle Roman Road, Crychan Forest, Black Yatt and Water Breaks its Neck.

Itinerary

• Begin in Llandovery with a group welcome and safety briefing.
• Drive through Mid Wales into the Cambrian Mountains.
• Tackle one of Wales’ best-known and green lane 4×4 routes.
• Enjoy a wilderness lunch stop (please bring your own packed lunch).

• Led by an experienced and qualified 4×4 instructor with over 35 years’ experience
• Support/lead vehicle, fully equipped for emergencies
• Vehicle diagnostics equipment for a wide variety of vehicles
• Garmin InReach GPS beacon for safety
• PMR/CB radios supplied for all participants
• Excellent local knowledge and guidance throughout the day

Suitability & Requirements

• Route Difficulty: Easy to moderate. Suitable for vehicles with low range and minimum All Terrain tyres. Recommended for less experienced drivers. Please ask if you’re unsure about your vehicle’s suitability.
• Participants: Individuals, couples, groups, and families welcome.
• Dog Friendly: Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead for most routes.
• Lunch: Please bring a packed lunch for the wilderness stop.
• Vehicle Notice: Light scratching or minor damage (e.g., to alloy wheels) is possible due to the nature of the adventure.
• Weather: Conditions and weather can change. This route is suitable for most conditions and is mainly rock based.
