Strata Florida 4×4 Adventure – Wild Wales Explorer Tour

Each group may take a slightly different route, but will include the full length of Strata Florida

Tour Overview

• Date: Friday 18th September  2026
• Meeting Point: Llandovery SA20 0AR, 09:45 (welcome, introduction, and safety briefing)
• Finish: Around 16:30 near Llandovery
• Price: £120 per vehicle per day (including VAT)
• Route: Strata Florida North to South, Crychan Forest and Trecastle Roman Road (time permitting).

Itinerary

• Begin in Llandovery with a group welcome and safety briefing.
• Drive through Mid Wales into the Cambrian Mountains.
• Tackle one of Wales’ best-known and challenging 4×4 routes.
• Enjoy a wilderness lunch stop (please bring your own packed lunch).
• Finish near the historic Strata Florida Abbey, before we make our way to Elan Oaks Campsite (for those staying overnight please book your own camping/accommodation).

• Support/lead vehicle, fully equipped for emergencies
• Vehicle diagnostics equipment for a wide variety of vehicles
• Garmin InReach GPS beacon for safety
• PMR/CB radios supplied for all participants
• Excellent local knowledge and guidance throughout the day

Suitability & Requirements

• Route Difficulty: Moderate to technical. Suitable for vehicles with low range and minimum All Terrain tyres. Not recommended for novice drivers or low profile tyres. Please ask if you’re unsure about your vehicle’s suitability.
• Participants: Individuals, couples, groups, and families welcome.
• Dog Friendly: Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead for most routes.
• Lunch: Please bring a packed lunch for the wilderness stop.
• Vehicle Notice: Light scratching or minor damage (e.g., to alloy wheels) is possible due to the nature of the adventure.
• Weather: Driving Strata Florida is subject to weather conditions. High river levels may restrict access to parts of the route.

• How to Book: Full payment is required to secure your booking. Gift vouchers are also available.
• Deposits: Deposit payment options are only available on UK 5-day and overseas tours.
• Cancellations: All deposits are non-refundable. No cancellations or changes can be made with less than 21 days’ notice. Please see full terms and conditions for details.
